Droitwich Spa 2-0 Wyrley United

The Saltmen made it 17 games unbeaten on Saturday afternoon thanks to a hard fought 2-0 win over Wyrley United.

It was a scrappy opening to the game and a good 15 minutes passed until the first meaningful chance, when Alex Dugmore's spectacular overhead kick was tipped over the bar by Jenkins in the United goal.
Perry Moss also came close to opening the scoring with a close range header that went over, but Droitwich struggled to break down a very well organised opponent.

At the other end Wyrley threatened when Tom Duffy twice failed to make meaningful contact from dangerous crosses, and Adam Prosser shot wide of the target after Matt Oliver's loose clearance.

Spa were awarded a penalty for a stray elbow, a decision that the visitors vehemently protested, so much so that goalkeeper Adam Jenkins was sin-binned for dissent.
Luke Molloy made no mistake from the spot to give Droitwich the lead.

The second half was played mostly in the Wyrley half, as the Saltmen missed several chances to extend their lead.
Wyrley again defended very well, and they were condemned to this tactic after Alex Jones was shown a straight red card for dissent on the hour mark.
Perry Moss doubled Droitwich's lead after Connor Collins's powerful drive was well saved by Jenkins, and the action wasn't over, as before the end the visitors had a second red card, this time to Sam Scott, who after leaving the field of play re-entered too early, which gave him a 2nd yellow and an early bath.

Droitwich's busy schedule continues on Monday evening at home to Gornal Colts (ko 7.45pm), then on Wednesday when Team Dudley visit Walshes Meadow (ko 7.45pm).
