The Saltmen got back to a winning start after a 2-month break from their League campaign as they overcame Wrens Nest 4-0 in an overall scrappy encounter.
The visitors started the brighter in the opening exchanges, and Matt Oliver was forced in to action from Elliot Palmer's weak shot, which was easily gathered as Spa looked hesitant at the back.
After Droitwich had 10 minutes to settle, Andy Crowther's men played some excellent one-touch attacking football for a 15-minute period, where Wrens struggled to get out of their own half. This also brought 2 goals for the Saltmen.
James Lemon and Connor Collins fired wide whilst well-placed, and Haydn Morris forced a stretching save from 'keeper Jack Fellows.
It wasn't long before the deadlock was broken however. Luke Molloy's deep cross was headed onto the crossbar, and Connor Collins was in the right place at the right time to stroke the rebound in from close range.
Spa continued to dominate proceedings, however Wrens Nest were their own worst enemies, when Morgan's back-pass fell way short of 'keeper Fellows and James Lemon pounced to make it 2-0.
Cory Rudd, Haydn Morris, Lemon and Molloy all had further half chances before the break, but the game for the most part turned in to a scrappy and rather uneventful battle.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, as Wrens Nest came out of the dressing room the more lively, however the visitors' chances of getting back into the game was dealt a blow when a bizarre and needless sliding challenge by Chris Pike left the referee with little other option but to reach for a second yellow card, and the visitors were left to play the remaining 40-minutes with 10 men.
The Saltmen took full advantage and added another 2 goals, both courtesy of James Lemon.
His first after substitute Perry Moss's effort came back off the post for him to tap home on the hour mark.
Lemon could have had another 2 to add to his, and his side's tally, however the Captain blazed wide whilst in a good position, and also saw a debatably awarded penalty well saved by Jack Fellows.
The Spa skipper wasn't to be denied a hat-trick though, and some neat skills which dragged the visitors' defence left and right was well finished through the 'keeper, evading another player who desperately tried to clear on the line, but only succeeded in helping the ball on its way in.
A convincing victory for Droitwich in the end, who kept their first clean sheet since 21st August (a fourth clean sheet of the season) as they look to get back in to full swing for next weekend's tough away fixture at high-flying Bromyard Town (ko 3pm).
