The Saltmen put in their best performance of the season to overcome in-form Bustleholme 5-1 at Walshes Meadow on Saturday.

Spa looked lively from the first whistle, and with their 1st meaningful attack, good work down the left from Luke Molloy produced a low cross that Haydn Morris tapped in from close range.

It was 2-0 within 10 minutes as almost a carbon copy move, this time down the right, found James Lemon well placed in the area and the Spa captain made no mistake.

Droitwich continued to dominate the proceedings, with Bustleholme showing flashes of danger, however each time the final ball or touch let them down, and Matt Oliver remained untroubled in the Spa goal.

There were more chances for Droitwich to extend their lead, when the visiting 'keeper acrobatically tipped Molloy's looping effort over the bar, Tilley and Rudd also tried their luck from range, until a 3rd goal was scored courtesy of Luke Molloy from the penalty spot, after a foul on James Lemon.

The second half followed a similar pattern; Spa hit the woodwork and forced the visiting 'keeper into several fine saves before Captain James Lemon netted a brace thanks to good work from Cory Rudd. The introduction of Perry Moss breathed new life into Spa, and his effort from a tight angle almost crept in.

Manager Andy Crowther will surely be disappointed by Bustleholme's consolation goal which was produced from a corner and free-header at the near post, giving Matt Oliver no chance.

The Saltmen had the final say however, when a bewildering challenge in the area on James Lemon, where it seemed like there was no immediate danger, gave Molloy the opportunity to score his 2nd of the afternoon, when he clinically finished from the spot to round off an excellent afternoon for Spa.

Next week, there is no scheduled fixture, and the following Saturday (27th November) Droitwich make the short trip over to Redditch to face Redditch Borough in the County Cup Quarter Final (ko 2pm).
