Droitwich Spa came away victorious from Wellington Amateurs, but they were made to work extremely hard for the three points.
Ams got off to a great start, as Jake Challoner opened the scoring on just 3 minutes for the hosts.
It didn't take long for the Saltmen to level things up, and Captain Connor Collins finished well to equalise with 11 minutes played.
Just 5 minutes later, Spa got their noses in front as Collins was on the mark yet again to register his 5th goal of the season, and second of the afternoon.
Once again, the lead was short lived, as Jake Challoner scored his, and his sides' 2nd of the afternoon to ensure that the two teams went in level-pegging at the break.
Another blow came for Spa on the half hour mark, when talisman Connor Collins was substituted due to an injury, to add to the list of casualties, which includes strike-partner James Lemon. Jack Davies replaced Collins, and like the rest of his team-mates, put in a real shift.
Wellington had the majority of the ball, and Spa were made to maintain their shape and defend for the majority of this game, however Connor Baker and Haydn Morris had chances to put Droitwich further ahead.
The second half followed a similar rhythm to the first, but the solitary goal was scored by Luke Molloy, who capitalised on a goalkeeping error to finish well into an empty net.
Spa's chances were few and far between from that point as they looked happy to defend their lead. Cory Rudd's effort from range and Scott Braiden-Smith's header being the highlights for the visitors, whilst at the other end Spa had goalkeeper Ryan Williams to thank for ensuring a 2nd consecutive, and very important victory, against difficult opponents who will surely be fighting at the right end of the table at the end of the season.
