The Saltmen drew a blank on the opening day of the season in a physical away game in Bloxwich, the new home of Willenhall Town.
Despite controlling the game for large periods and creating several excellent chances, Spa found the Lockmen's veteran 'keeper Chris Adamson in inspired form.
The former West Brom 'keeper repelled efforts on more than one occasion from James Lemon, Connor Collins, Haydn Morris, Charlie Tilley and Ellis Blakemore (the latter making his debut for Spa), and also saved a penalty mid-way through the first half from Connor Collins.
Scott Braiden-Smith was also denied by the crossbar after a powerful header towards the end of the 1st half.
Willenhall rarely threatened in the first half, and the score stayed at 0-0 going into the break.
Spa made heavier work of the 2nd period, where both sides rattled the woodwork. Whilst Willenhall created a few chances, Ryan Williams was equal to all that came his way, and the same can be said for his opposite number Adamson, who was certainly less troubled to that of the first half and the game petered out.
Droitwich looked revitalised after the introduction of Perry Moss with 20 minutes remaining, however couldn't find the elusive goal despite really turning up the pressure and both sides had to settle for a point in Spa Manager Andy Crowther's first game in charge.
