The Saltmen were made to pay for missing a host of great chances as Wyrley snatched a late equaliser to return home with a point.
Droitwich were in the driving seat for the majority of the encounter, and in the opening exchanges Jordan Cox and James Lemon were denied by Lees and the visiting stopper also had to be at his best to keep out Scott Braiden-Smith's powerful header.
Wyrley did look dangerous on the counter-attack, and despite Droitwich's lofty position in the league, they also have the 4th worst defensive record.
This was brought to the fore when excellent work from the tricky Jack Braid fired in a low cross from the right which Nick Lee back-heeled across Matt Oliver into the bottom corner to give the visitors a 26th minute lead.
Spa continued to turn the screw and within 10 minutes Cory Rudd fired in a stunning equaliser.
Ryan Lees fisted away a corner, and when the ball fell to Rudd he took a touch and unleashed a thunderbolt from 25yards into the top corner which wouldn't have looked out of place on Match of the Day.
Droitwich couldn't find a way through a well organised Wyrley defence for the remainder of the half, but from the beginning of the 2nd period the hosts created several chances.
Jack Davies & substitute Anthony Smith both spurned two excellent chances with just the 'keeper to beat, and Cox and Lemon forced good saves from Lees.
Spa did get their noses in front and it was another superb strike, this time from Charlie Tilley, which was almost a carbon copy of midfield partner Cory Rudd's equaliser - a fine strike which found the top corner.
The Saltmen continued to create chances but with more caution to the wind pushing fewer players forward, yet couldn't find a way past Lees to add to the advantage.
Wyrley started to press and they almost equalised when a cross-shot from substitute Andy Lee looped over Matt Oliver, miraculously hit the inside of the far post and bounced away to be cleared, then Matt Oliver pulled off a fantastic save to deny Harrison McDermott who had just the Spa 'keeper to beat.
In the dying embers Wyrley did score the equaliser they had been threatening - a free-kick from the half-way line was hoisted to the back post and an unmarked Alex Jones had the simple task of heading home from a matter of yards out to cue massive celebrations from the visitors' bench and to leave Droitwich stunned into silence.
The result brought an end to a 6-year Managerial reign for Mark Owen, who handed in his resignation the following day.
Spa are without a game this coming week-end and will have some extra time to regroup under the leadership of new Manager Andrew Crowther before a tough-looking home fixture with Old Wulfrunians on Saturday 7th November (ko 3pm) at Walshes Meadow.
