The Saltmen earned an important 3 points over a much improved Sikh Hunters side on Saturday at the E-Act Academy in Walsall.
Due to the serious flooding at Droitwich's temporary base at Stourport, the club moved the venue to the 3G facility to ensure the game would be played.
Spa were 2-0 to the good by half time as James Lemon opened the scoring after 15 minutes, whilst Jack Davies extended the lead 10 minutes before half time.
Sikh Hunters replied on the hour mark, however the Saltmen soon restored their 2 goal lead when Bradley Burgess came of the bench to net Spa's third, and with five minutes remaining Connor Collins added to his impressive goals tally with a well taken penalty to seal the victory.
There was still time for a late Hunters consolation, but with this win Droitwich extended their lead at the top of the table to 5 five points, still with games in hand.
Virtually all fixtures were postponed across the Midlands on Saturday, however the other game in WMRL Division 1 which survived the weather came at Priory Lane, where Team Dudley defeated Spa's title rivals Wellington Ams by a 5-2 score-line.
Spa next take to the field on Tuesday evening when they face Wyrley (ko 7.45pm) at the HDAnywhere Stadium, home of Malvern Town, whilst on Saturday, Droitwich will face 3rd placed Wellington Ams at King Georges Fields, Droitwich (ko 3pm) in a game which could go a long way to decide the league title and promotion.
