A much changed Droitwich Spa returned from Tipton with all three points to secure a third straight win in all competitions.
The hosts started the better of the two sides and a couple of rare slip-ups from Matty Oliver in the Spa goal were not capitalized on by the hosts who showed plenty of endeavor but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal - Andrew Dicken coming closest to giving the hosts the lead but his header missed the target, and the hosts were then denied by some desperate defending from Alex Dugmore.
Spa were always a threat going forward and started to put their stamp on the game - Connor Collins, Haydn Morris, Jordan Cox and Matty Hunt all coming close - Collins forcing home 'keeper Ryan Pratt into an excellent save to tip over his effort from close range.
Just a few minutes later though, Captain Matty Hunt headed home from a corner to give Spa the lead which their recent pressure deserved.
Spa continued to assert authority and Pratt again denied Connor Collins, but Spa's top scorer wouldn't be denied again as he professionally put the Saltmen 2-0 up when through one-on-one with Pratt after a tidy passing move.
Both Tilbury and Cox could have added to the lead before the break, but Tipton held out to keep the score at 0-2.
The hosts started the 2nd half much better and Droitwich were on the back foot for the opening exchanges- Dan Bell, Ryan Williams and Terence Davies were all off target when well positioned, but Town did pull one back on the hour thanks to a smart finish from Bell.
The Town reply seemed to spark the Saltmen back into life and the visitors soon restored their 2-goal advantage when a defensive mix-up allowed Collins in to score his second.
Matt Oliver then denied Williams's header and Bell's drive, but Droitwich were still looking dangerous and Collins, Tilbury, Morris and Cox all had further chances to extend the lead but Tipton were resilient and the game finished 1-3.
