Saltmen 4-0 Sikh Hunters

The Saltmen got the better of Sikh Hunters for the 2nd time this season- both games ending in a 4-0 victory for the Worcestershire side, but on both occasions the result slightly flattered the victors.

Droitwich started the game on the front foot with an attacking approach but were unable to make their early dominance pay as Hunters 'keeper Haynes was only called in to action to tip James Lemon's effort over the bar whilst Haydn Morris, Jack Davies and Mike Seeley all had missed opportunities.

Sikh Hunters always posed a threat going forward and themselves enjoyed a dominant 20 minutes as the lively Hinesh Patel & Kam Sandhu spurned their chances, however their best opportunity came after a lovely passing move that calved the home defence apart, but with the goal gaping Mitch Lawley fired his shot just the wrong side of the post.
Former Stourbridge man Justin Nisbett always posed a physical threat and his effort hit the wood-work as Droitwich got through the spell of pressure unscathed.

The visitors would soon rue their missed chances, as on 38 minutes the lively Jack Davies made a foray forward and his effort should have been a routine save for Haynes, but the ball squirmed under him and Droitwich had the lead.
Just minutes later the ball was hoist into the box by the impressive Haydn Morris and Matty Hunt rose highest to powerfully head Spa into a 2-0 lead - one which they took into the half time interval.

Those two late first half goals somewhat against the run of play seemed to have knocked the stuffing out of the Hunters, who created little in the second half until the introduction of Tyrone Atkinson who made an impact after coming on - he also hit the woodwork and had two other chances that in the end came to nothing.
Droitwich extended their lead to 3-0 however as Bradley Burgess's goal-bound shot was diverted into the net by Ash Smith and effectively the game was over.

Droitwich applied more pressure to the visitors' goal and Haynes saved well from both Burgess and Lemon, while the cross-bar was rattled by Mike Seeley's powerful header.
The Saltmen then scored the goal of the game with just over 10 minutes to go as Haydn Morris's pinpoint free kick found James Lemon, who rose highest to power in an unstoppable header into the far corner.

It was an excellent performance from front to back by Spa, who deserved to win the game but maybe the margin flattered them a little while Hunters will regret their missed 1st half chances as the game could have had a different outcome.
The Saltmen climb to third in the table within touching distance of top spot ahead of Wednesday's visit of struggling Willenhall Town.
