A tightly contested and at time feisty contest ended in only the Saltmen's 2nd away defeat all season.
In truth it was a disappointing showing against a well organised Paget side.
Droitwich started the game brightly and within the first quarter of an hour should have been two goals up. Nick Seabourne saw his header come back of the crossbar ander the same player then had a shot cleared off the line moments later. The visitors were looking alot more threatening going forward in the first period - Halsall came close closing in at the far post but his effort was well blocked and cleared for a corner. Bradley Burgess also spurned a half chance before Paget took the lead.
A deep cross was headed back across goal and Kouseba-Bakala was there to head home from close range despite appeals for offside. Aside from this, goalkeeper Matt Oliver didn't have a save to make.
The second half was a much tighter affair. The hosts had clearly re-organised and snuffed out any form of Droitwich threat - so much so that the Saltmen resorted to long balls over the top and ultimately to no avail. James Lemon was kept in check and feeding off scraps.
It was a midfield battle and Paget looked the more likely to add to their lead.
Matt Oliver pulled off a good save tipping over a speculative 30 yard effort.
Then, after an altercation on the far touchline, Rangers' leading scorer Mark Bellingham and Droitwich's Adam Granger were both shown red cards.
The game opened up and Paget took full advantage with 15minutes left. A corner from the right was easily met by Evans and the ball rippled the back of the net for a comfortable and deserved 2-0 lead.
There was still time for another sending off, after Jack Brighton had won the ball, as he lay on the ground he was stamped on right in front of the referee. After some lengthy treatment he was subsequently substituted for Club Captain Mark Burrows.
A disappointing night in Boldmere and a vital 3 points dropped in the race for a promotion place. It makes Saturday's visit to King George's of 2nd placed Chelmsley Town a must win game for the Saltmen if they are to stand any chance of a 2nd placed finish.
