Wayne Oliver and Mark Owen fielded a much changed side, presumably with Monday nights Cup Final in mind and their rotation policy paid off dividends.

Droitwich were on the front foot from the off in an energetic and dominant display against their out of sorts hosts.
Nick Seabourne could have given Spa the lead within the first 3 minutes when he was most alert to a loose ball, beat the 'keeper to it but shot wide from a tight angle.

The Saltmen continued to press and create more opportunities with Seabourne, Ward and Molloy coming close.

The Eddies' passing left alot to be desired however Ward and Pardoe looked comfortable in the middle while Josh Seikora - playing his first game in many months after injury had a superb game at left back replacing the suspended Adam Grainger.

Spa made the breakthrough on 24 minutes when hesitancy at the back was pounced upon by the lively Jasper Alford who prodded home from 6 yards out.

Droitwich continued to pile forward and Brighton's set piece deliveries were causing all sorts of problems. Good work down the left from Morris, Seabourne and Molloy then hoisted the ball back into the area where Alford was again waiting to tap home almost unnoticed from close range and Spa went in at the break 2 goals to the good.

The second half started in a similar fashion with Droitwich enjoying the lions share of possesion and went 3-0 up after another defensive mix-up - the unfortunate Jak Barnes diverting a long ball from Brighton into his own net and past the despairing Wilson in the Eddies goal. The goalkeeper then decided he had had enough and decided to walk off the pitch! He was swiftly replaced and play resumed.

The rest of the game was a bit of a non event and Spa could have added to their lead on a number of occasions before Rostance started to enjoy more possesion and grabbed a consolation 5 minutes before time. Some sloppy defending from a set play allowed a free header at the far post, but it was too little too late for the hosts and Droitwich ran out relatively comfortable 3-1 winners.
In the 3 meetings between the sides this season, the Saltmen have scored 9 goals (3 on each occasion) conceding 2 and the day was made even sweeter as news filtered through that Paget had been defeated at champions Alvis, which meant Droitwich finish the season in a very pleasing 3rd position - much exceeding everyones expectations.
We hope to take these positives into the Presidents Cup Final on Monday evening and hopefully come away with some more silverware - we are huge underdogs, but stranger things have happened!
