The Saltmen ground out three points against a strong Clanfield side at Kingy's in front of 159 spectators on Saturday afternoon to keep up an unbeaten start to the season and a 100% home record.
It was the visitors who controlled long spells of this encounter, however the Robins couldn't find the initiative to break down a well drilled Spa defence.
The first chance of the game fell to Charlie Trinder-Sage on just 5 minutes, when his free header from a corner flew well over the cross-bar. It was one of very few chances at either end as the crowd endured a cagey affair.
The next piece of goalmouth action produced also the winning goal on 28 minutes, as Perry Moss was given the time to cut inside to a shooting position and he drilled a powerful low drive into Luke Haley's bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Matt Jackson was shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away, and just 3 minutes the match officials wrongly accused the same player of the same offence, and a 2nd yellow card which meant that Spa had to play out 55 minutes with 10 men!
In the protests that ensued, Droitwich captain Jamie Sauntson was sin-binned for his protests, and Spa played the remaining 5 minutes of the first half with 9 men!
The visitors couldn't make the 2 man advantage count and the Saltmen went into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
The second half was as expected; Clanfield with the lions share of possession, but rarely
was Rogerson called into action.
Sam Carey and Perry Moss both came close to extending Spa's advantage, whilst at the other end Nathanael Robinson forced a smart save from Rogerson after he turned Sauntson to bear down on goal.
Droitwich's defensive organisation was excellent throughout, however they were lucky to not be pegged back when Jordan Chavender hit the post from close range, and in injury time Tyger Hall headed over.
The latter was also sin-binned at the death and Droitwich held on for an important and hard earned 3 points.
Next up for Andy Crowther's charges is a derby with Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday night (7.45pm) in the 1st Round of the County Cup, then on Saturday, Cheltenham Saracens visit Kingy's in the Marsh Challenge Cup (ko 3pm).
