The Saltmen continued their perfect start to the season with an 8th straight victory in all competitions, and incredibly a 3rd 6-2 scoreline in 2024-25, this time over Bewdley Town!
The win means a 9-point gap has opened up between the two Worcestershire rivals at this early stage.
Spa couldn't have got off to a better start as with just 94 seconds played, leading scorer Alex Dugmore's looping header fooled everyone and flew into the far corner.
The lead didn't last long as Mike Bridges hit an unstoppable 30 yard free kick into Rogerson's top corner to even up the scores on 7 minutes.
Droitwich looked nervous at the back and Del Kiffin then Bailey squandered half chances for the visitors before Spa responded through Dugmore, who was denied by a sharp save by Kai Lloyd.
The Bewdley 'keeper was lucky to stay on the pitch on 22 minutes as Dugmore was through on goal, touched the ball passed him before being brought down, as the referee adjudged, outside of the area, but only awarded a yellow card which angered the home support.
Nathan Binner struck the resulting free kick off the underside of the bar.
Town then took the lead on 31 minutes when Elliott Lees found himself unmarked from close range to smash home from a corner.
The Riversiders' joy was short lived as from the kick off, Perry Moss drove forward and crossed for Josh Hurdman to emphatically finish from 6 yards in a close but entertaining first half.
Droitwich stepped up a gear in the second period and Town seldom threatened Rogerson's goal; just one minute in and Lloyd saved well from Dugmore, and from the corner kick an attempted clearance by Josh Hines hit his arm and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Moss sent Lloyd the wrong way to put Spa back in the driving seat.
The Saltmen extended their lead on 62 minutes as Dugmore netted his 14th goal in 8 games with a powerful header after a wonderful Binner cross.
The closest Town came was a free kick on the half way line by Alex Clarke that Rogerson turned over the bar, but soon after Charlie Tilley made it 5-2 as he turned home a low Binner cross.
Moss almost got his second of the afternoon as he lobbed Lloyd but saw his attempt go just wide, but with 8 minutes remaining Josh Hurdman scored a brace as he met Brighton's deep cross at the back post.
Edmonds was then denied by Lloyd and Dugmore was a whisker away from a hat-trick but put his effort just wide, as the game finished with a comprehensive 6-2 home win to further cement Spa's hold on the top spot.
Droitwich have a break from League action on Saturday, when they make their debut in the Marsh Challenge Cup 1st Round at home to Southam United (ko 3pm) before two tricky away trips to FC Stratford and 2nd placed Abingdon United.
