Four more for Spa who go 2nd!

The Saltmen finished their home campaign in style with another impressive victory on Saturday, this time over Nuneaton Griff.

It was Spa's 6th consecutive victory in a run of 10 games unbeaten, with Andy Crowther's men scoring 25 goals over the last 6 matches!

The visitors had the first effort on target with the ever dangerous Jamal Adams trying his luck from distance, which was a straightforward enough save for Rogerson.

Droitwich took the lead however on just 4 minutes when Haydn Morris picked up the ball on the edge of the Griff box and struck a sublime finish in off the far post.

The visitors can count themselves unfortunate to have not levelled things up, as Luke Garner, Adams and leading scorer Proudlock all had efforts on goal, however the biggest chance fell to centre back Ross Thacker whose scuffed effort when well positioned missed the target.
Rogerson made two excellent saves whilst two Alex Dugmore interventions denied Adams from certain goals.

Somewhat against the run of play, Perry Moss was brought down in the area and the Referee pointed to the spot. Luke Mollor sent O'Donnell in the Griff goal the wrong way to give Spa a 2-0 advantage.

James Lemon was then brilliantly denied by O'Donnell, but Droitwich's leading scorer made no mistake when an excellent cross found him just a couple of yards out to nod home for 3-0 on 38 minutes.

Both sides were forced in to first half substitutions due to injury, and the second half was an even affair which turned in to a midfield battle.

The Heartlanders got a goal back when Toby Bartram latched on to a through ball and fired an unstoppable effort in when one-on-one with Rogerson just after the hour mark.
At the other end, Spa forced just a few half chances, all off target, and didn't really get out of first gear with a relatively comfortable lead behind them.

The Saltmen did restore their 3-goal advantage with five minutes remaining when Josh Hurdman scored his fourth goal in as many games coming off the bench, as he cut inside and unleashed a precision shot in to O'Donnell's far corner.

Due to results elsewhere Droitwich now sit 2nd in the table, and are guaranteed to finish no lower than fourth after OJM Black Country fell to a home defeat against Stapenhill, whilst the fixture of the round between Hinckley AFC and Bilston Town ended in a 1-1 draw, ending Hinckley's 10-game winning streak.
Those two results mean that the four teams participating in the play-offs have been confirmed as: Droitwich Spa, Hinckley AFC, Ashby Ivanhoe and OJM Black Country.

The order, and home advantage, will be known by the end of the season which after a recent FA decision will now be 29th April.

Droitwich finish the season with a trip to a now safe Cradley Town next Saturday (ko 3pm) who are on an excellent run of six games without defeat.
