The Saltmen got back on track with a fine 1-2 victory at AFC Bridgnorth on Tuesday evening, to quickly put to bed Saturday’s defeat to Coton Green.
Spa started the game brightly, and dominated the first 35 minutes of the game, with Ollie Thompson, Luke Molloy and James Lemon all coming close early on.

It was Thompson who opened the scoring 11 minutes in when he cut inside and drilled a powerful drive from the edge of the area past the helpless Stephen Groome in the home goal.

Droitwich continued to press and Thompson’s cross shot flashed just wide, as did Molloy’s deep cross which narrowly evaded the on-rushing Lemon. Meanwhile Jake Whitehouse and Haydn Morris were producing some good passages of play down the left, that couldn’t find Spa’s forward players in the box.

James Lemon extended Droitwich’s lead on 23 minutes when Thompson’s cross found him free in the area to nod home from close range.

At the back Spa snuffed out most of the home sides threat – the closest they came was Will Reid’s shot across goal that Oliver saw wide.

The Second half was a more even affair with Spa adopting a more cautious approach, and clear opportunities at either end were at a premium.

Bridgnorth pulled a goal back with 12 minutes remaining when substitute Harry Minifie finished well from close range, but Spa held on for the victory without any major problems.
