A much-changed Droitwich Spa side put in an excellent performance in dreadful conditions to progress in the League Cup at the expense of Tipton Town.
With no fewer than 6 changes to last week's FA Vase disappointment, Spa were lively from the off - banishing any signs of a possible Vase hangover.
Wingers Bradley Burgess & Haydn Morris had early chances, and Connor Collins also fired wired, but Ryan Pratt in the home goal denied Spa taking the lead on several occasions as he acrobatically stopped another Burgess effort, as well as saving impressively from James Lemon and Connor Collins's free-kick.
Further chances came and went for Spa's Lemon, Connor, Burgess & Morris, but it was the hosts who should have taken the lead as new signing Koita Moussa flashed a shot wide of the post when bearing down on goal, and 'keeper Matt Oliver also had to be alert to deny Ryan Williams moments later.
Droitwich did finally take the lead a minute before the break - excellent work down the right from Burgess and Lemon - the latter's low cross was turned in at the back post by Haydn Morris.
Just a few minutes later, Spa were awarded a penalty due to a hand-ball, but Collins' penalty despite being well placed and powerful was superbly saved by Pratt to keep the score at 0-1.
It wasn't long before Droitwich extended their lead however, as Bradley Burgess finished well in the are, and then soon after James Lemon forced an own goal to make it 3-0.
Spa had plenty of chances in-between - most of which falling to skipper Lemon however Pratt denied him time and again, meanwhile at the other end chances were few & far between, but Conner Scott was unlucky to see his long-range drive cannon back off the cross-bar.
Connor Collins would not be denied a goal however, and he effectively wrapped up the tie just after the hour mark - another stunning 25-yard free-kick which gave Pratt no chance.
Danny Bell managed a consolation for Town to round off a neat passing move, but Spa merited their victory to book their place in the next round.
