Quentin, firstly thank you for taking the time to talk to us.
We managed to take a point in adverse circumstances on Saturday. Were you pleased with the result?

"We went into the game against Highworth with a lot of optimism; they’re a team around us in the League, and we felt it was a game we could go into with real confidence and look to get three points from.

I thought we started the game really well.
We had the better of the play in the opening 25–30 minutes and looked in a good position to take control of the game.
Unfortunately, Rohan was then sent off, meaning we had to play the vast majority of the game with ten men, which is never easy.

We conceded after going down to ten men, but I have to give the players a lot of credit for the way they responded.
We managed to get ourselves back into the game and make it 1–1, and even with ten men we still felt that we could potentially go on and win it.

With the extra man, it became a much more even contest, and both sides had periods where they looked capable of winning the game.

In some ways, you could look at it as two points dropped because, based on the way we had played in that opening half an hour, I genuinely believe that if we had kept eleven players on the pitch, we would have gone on to win the game comfortably, but football doesn’t work like that. We had to deal with the situation, and ultimately we’ve come away with a point from a position where we could quite easily have come away with nothing.

So, while there is naturally a little bit of frustration because we know what might have been, overall I’m pleased with the point. The players showed good character, resilience and togetherness to stay in the game with ten men, get ourselves back to 1–1 and make sure we took something from it."

How l would you summarize Monday's first League win of the season on matchday four, and the performance against a side you had previously managed, and had alot of success with?

"Firstly, obviously winning any game is pleasing, but to score seven goals is fantastic. For me, though, it’s the manner of the performance that stands out most.

From the very first whistle, we were absolutely on it. We were all over them, attacking wave after wave, and we looked very sound and solid defensively as well.
It was one of those days where you look at the eleven players who started, along with the three or four substitutes who came on, and you could genuinely say that almost every single one of them put in a 7.5 or 8 out of 10 performance.

At the level we’re playing at, it’s very rare to get eleven, twelve or thirteen players all performing at that level on the same day, so that’s what pleased me more than anything.

The result obviously pushes us three or four places up the table, but we’ve been threatening to put a performance like this together since the start of the season.
We’ve played well in a lot of our games, but we haven’t always had the rub of the green or got the points our performances perhaps deserved.

Ultimately, though, the points are what matter. We’ve got the three points, we’ve scored seven goals and put in a performance that I think everyone connected with the club can be really proud of.

I hope the fans enjoyed it as much as we did, because it was a fantastic afternoon for everyone involved.

It was also great to see some of the boys, particularly Lemon, Dugs and the others, get off the mark and start getting their goal tallies up and running for the season; hopefully that gives them the confidence to kick on now.

So, we enjoy it, but we move on quickly. We’ll see you all at Corsham on Saturday, and hopefully we can go there and put in another performance of the same quality."

Looking ahead to Saturday's trip to Corsham, is there any squad news that you can offer?

"Rohan is suspended for Saturday, and I also won't have Perry Moss or Bailey Bow available.
A few of the lads have picked up knocks over the weekend which we will assess on Thursday at training before selecting the squad for Saturday."

And finally what are your thoughts on our opponents this Saturday?

"Corsham have been there or thereabouts for the last few seasons.
It's a long trip down there and they haven't lost in their last three games, so I'm fully expecting a very tough test."
