After a month in charge, several training sessions and now with two Pre-seasom Friendly fixtures behind him to evaluate his squad, Droitwich Manager Quentin Townsend answered our questions.

Quentin, what are your thoughts after the first couple of friendlies?
"On Tuesday night’s defeat to Slimbridge, my assessment is that it felt very similar to the Bishop’s Cleeve game on Saturday.

In the first half, we were hard to break down again, and we created a couple of really good chances where we probably should have taken the lead.

We went in at 0-0, but then we conceded a sloppy goal in the first five minutes of the second half.

We made some substitutions, and the game opened up again.
It probably sounds like I’m saying the same thing I did after Saturday’s game, but it really did have that same feel."

How would you sum up the overall performance?
"Overall, I’m pleased.
It was good to get valuable minutes into the legs of most of the lads.
We had a smaller squad on Tuesday night because of a few injuries, knocks and holidays, so that also had an impact."

What are your expectations for Saturday's trip to Alcester?
"We’ll train on Thursday night and focus on putting right some of the defensive issues from the last two games.
We’ll be working hard on that, and hopefully we’ll keep improving as we build towards the start of the season."
