Droitwich progressed to the Play-off final after their win against Cirencester Town on Tuesday, to make it four games unbeaten, and maintain a 100% record in Play-off Semi Finals!
A stellar crowd of 512 witnessed a tight game in the race for promotion.
Within a minute, Alex Dugmore had the ball in the back of the net, but the flag was raised, shattering Spa’s dream start.
Fourth and fifth minute chances fell to both Josh Hurdman & Perry Moss, both of which went wide of the post as The Saltmen made a positive start to the encounter.
An end-to-end half ensued, with there not being a testing chance until the 25th minute - some Perry Moss trickery & near post shot forcing a corner.
Cirencester’s first attempt came in the 38th minute; a header from Kyle Pitts being tipped over by Stockton.
At the other end, Cory Rudd's free kick was the last piece of action of the first half, with the attempt in the 40th minute in a promising position flying wide of the post.
The 52nd minute raised the hopes of Droitwich supporters, as Jack Brighton’s attempt on goal hit the post and Town goalkeeper Ronnie Newberry gathered the rebound.
Town pushed against the Spa defence in the 54th minute, with Peare unable to turn his chance into a goal.
The second half played similarly to the first, with the ball going from box to box - without either goalkeeper being seriously tested.
Perry Moss once again displayed some flair in the box in the 77th minute, his attempt going just over the bar, but moments later a huge sigh of relief for Droitwich fans, as Josh Hurdman got the decisive touch in the box to put the Saltmen 1-0 up.
The five minutes of added time that closed the game were very testing for Droitwich hearts, as Cirencester pressed relentlessly.
Harlie Price had two attempts, but was unable to level the playing field.
The final whistle blew to jubilant scenes, putting Spa through to the final on the 2nd May.
Droitwich's opponents will be revealed after Wednesday night’s other Play-off Semi Final between Roman Glass St George and Worcester Raiders.
