Boss Townsend shares opinion on Cup ties

Spa Manager Quentin Townsend shared his thoughts after his first victory on the Droitwich bench on Friday night, and looks ahead to Saturday's Isuzu FA Vase tie at Kingy's, against Coventry Copsewood:

"We come fresh off the back of an FA Cup performance that, for me, was really pleasing on the eye and incredibly resolute.

Going away from home to a place in Wolverhampton that not a lot of the players would have known, I thought the performance from start to finish was really polished. They never really looked like threatening our goal, while we looked dangerous every time we got on the counter.

Once we got the two goals and went in front, to be fair, we could probably have had four or five with the chances Pez missed — bless him!
But, apart from that, we were really resolute, difficult to break down and looked a real threat going forward.

Now we go into the FA Vase on Saturday, and hopefully we can produce more of the same and, most importantly, get the same end result.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, despite losing our first two league games, I genuinely believe we’re in a really good place.
On another day, we could quite easily have won both of those opening league fixtures as well.

So, let’s take the confidence and the form from the FA Cup into the FA Vase and hopefully put another positive result on the board.

We hope to see you all down at Kingy’s on Saturday!"
