Droitwich Spa were beaten 3–1 by Cirencester Town at home, despite a spirited second-half performance that saw Spa pull a goal back and create several opportunities to get back into the contest.

The visitors made the perfect start, taking the lead inside the opening minutes. A corner caused problems for the Spa defence, with Rogerson unable to claim the delivery before Lemon's attempted clearance fell to Corcoran, who smashed home from 12 yards.

Spa responded positively and began to create chances of their own.
Thurston's low cross almost produced an equaliser when it was nearly turned into his own net by Scott, while Harlie Price headed straight at Rogerson after good work to find space at the other end.
Cirencester continued to look dangerous on the counter but Spa were enjoying alot of the ball; Lemon sent a good ball over the top for Moss, whose effort was deflected wide, before another dangerous corner saw Lemon's header well saved by Connor Johns.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 42nd minute as Jamie Townsend misread a high ball forward, allowing Harle Price to latch onto it and produce a composed finish across goal into the far corner.

Spa nearly pulled one back before the break. Dugmore rose highest to meet a good cross but saw his header come back off the post, while another effort tested the Cirencester defence.

At half-time, Spa's assessment was that they had played well without really troubling the visiting goalkeeper, but two defensive mistakes had left them two goals behind.

Droitwich started the second half brightly and continued to push for a way back into the match.

That pressure paid off in the 56th minute. Sam Carey finished across goal into the far corner to give Spa renewed hope.

Spa continued to threaten. A deep cross from Moss was met by Ed Scott, who slid in but luckily for him divert the ball just wide, while Thurston later forced Johns into a scrambling save following a spell of pressure and Alex Dugmore's header saw him denied by the woodwork for the second time of the afternoon!

Cirencester managed the final third of the game professionally, and Droitwich were unable to further trouble the visiting keeper, and Town eventually restored their two-goal advantage late on as substitute Dan Hill got on the end of a low cross to secure a 3–1 victory.

Despite the result, Spa had plenty of encouraging moments, particularly after the interval but ultimately suffer defeat for the first time in 4 Home games.
Notably, Under 18's player Ed Bridge made his debut on 80 minutes and looked comfortable.

Droitwich are back in action on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm) with a trip to high-flying Thornbury Town, and return to Kingy's on Saturday (ko 3pm) with a first ever meeting with newly promoted Malmesbury Victoria.
