After two defeats on the road, The Saltmen returned to Kingy's with a win and dominant performance over Mangotsfield United, to make it three home games unbeaten.

With a strong wind affecting the contest, it was Spa that dealt with the conditions better and started the game positively.
Alex Dugmore's strike was deflected out for the corner, from which Spa took the lead when Cory Rudd rose highest to head in Nathan Binner's corner at the back post, with 8 minutes on the clock for his first goal of the season.

Spa continued to press and Perry Moss's attempt curled effort flew just the wrong side of the post before Archie Thurston's flicked header from the edge of the box looped over everyone, and narrowly the crossbar.

Mangotsfield reorganized and for a 20-minute spell were able to stem the tide of Droitwich attacks, yet they were unable to test Dom Rogerson in the Droitwich goal.

Alex Dugmore saw his header hit the inside of the post before being cleared to safety on 37 minutes being the only notable action for the rest of the half.

Droitwich came quickly out of the blocks in the second half too, and Thurston was denied by Ethan Selway, then moments later Dugmore's shot was brilliantly saved by Selway, then Thurston saw his effort on the rebound cleared off the line by Jack Mills.

Curtis Smith then had a speculative effort at goal from range that went just over, but Spa's persistence paid off as Dugmore latched onto a fine through ball from Thurston, and was brought down in the box by Selway.
Perry Moss stepped up to convert the penalty kick to give the Saltmen a 2-goal lead with 20 minutes remaining.

James Lemon then fashioned his own chance after some tireless running, he cut inside and pulled a great save low down from Selway who denied a certain goal.
Binner then hit a volley from the edge of the area that flew just wide of the angle of post and bar, then Dugmore couldn't divert his header on target from Moss's cross in injury time.

The visitors then squandered their best chance of the game when some good work and a cross from the right found Ricardo Thompson at the near post late on, but he shot wide.

Quentin Townsend's men ran out worthy winners and now face a trip to in-form Longlevens on Wednesday night (ko 7.45pm) before returning to Kingy's on Saturday (ko 3pm) against Cirencester Town, who held National League South side Farnham Town to an FA Cup stalemate at the weekend!
