Droitwich suffered a 1-0 defeat against Cinderford Town for their first home game of the 2026/27 season on Tuesday night.

The first half was an even affair with neither side dominating possession.

Both teams managed a few good chances in front of goal but were unable to convert them.

The best chance for the visitors in first half came within the first 5 minutes when a shot from the edge of the box hit the crossbar.

And the best chance for the home side coming near the end of the half as Alex Dugmore’s header from a Lewis Phillips’ corner went just over the bar.

The second half started the same as the first with both sides creating good chances.

Sam Hurdman did put the ball in the back of the net but the offside flag denied Spa their first goal of the campaign.

A Cory Rudd shot from just outside the box rattled the crossbar meaning the score line stayed at 0-0.

Cinderford took more control near the end of the game and Dom Rogerson made an excellent save to keep out Jack Watts's shot from the middle of the box.

The breakthrough came during the 83rd minute which put Cinderford in the lead. It came as Watts laid the ball off to number Harry Leeson who’s shot from 18 yards out found the left corner of the goal.

The defeat means The Saltmen have suffered two loses in two games.

They are in Emirates FA Cup action next, as they travel to Dudley Town on Friday night for a 7.45pm kick off.
