Andy Crowther’s 199th game in charge of Droitwich Spa FC saw the Saltmen have to settle for a point, in a 1-1 stalemate against Tuffley Rovers.
Joe Stockton made his debut in his second spell playing in goal for Spa, and proved himself once more to be a valuable addition to the squad after stopping some early Rovers chances.
In the 36th minute Josh Hurdman cut inside and let off a dipping shot that was saved expertly by Robin Hoffland in the Rovers goal, who tipped it over the bar.
More inroads down the right flank by Hurdman and a low cross forced but a corner, and the set-piece resulted in the first goal of the game, as Jay Saunston bagged his first of the season when he prodded in from close range.
The first half concluded 1-0 to Spa, and play resumed with Spa in control, having multiple big chances, including a second Cory Rudd attempt from 20 yards out being millimetres from the top corner.
However, against the run of play, Tuffley Rovers equalised in the 62nd minute with an admittedly incredible finish from Adler.
In the 72nd and 77th minute, the Saltmen did not let up, with Lemon and Sibanda both taking turns firing towards Hoffland's goal, but neither of Spa's strikers found the target.
The game ended with few chances as the two sides cancelled each other out, and we had to settle for a point, which was watched by 149 spectators at Kingy’s.
Spa sit 3rd in the table, 8 points clear in the play offs, and 3 points behind Roman Glass (2nd) with two games in hand.
Next Saturday, Spa are away at Fairford Town (ko 3pm), the first of 3 away games.
Droitwich return to Kingy’s on Saturday 27th December against Worcester Raiders (ko 3pm).
