On Tuesday night, The Saltmen make the short trip down the Salt Way to face Southern League side Sporting Club Inkberrow in the 1st Round of the Worcestershire Senior Cup (ko 7.45pm).
The two sides met at the same stage last season, at Kingy's, where Droitwich ran out surprise 2-0 winners.
The Eagles' first ever campaign at Step 4 last season ended in comfortable survival, having gained two successive promotions and won the Hellenic League Premier Play-off Final in 2024-25.
This season, the Sands Road club have had a flying start to the season and currently sit in 6th position.
They have only lost once at home all season (0-4 to Bishops Cleeve) and have lost once in their last four games.
Top scorer Connor Stanley has registered 6 goals in 9 games so far, and our Worcestershire neighbours will be looking to push on in the Pitching in Division 1 South, where they face a long trip (and a ferry ride!) on Saturday to Portland Bill, to face Portland United.
Over pre-season, Inkberrow moved in quickly to sign Jack Brighton and Josh Hurdman from Droitwich, and so far they have both made their present's felt, with Jack appearing in 9 games so far, and Josh in 7, also chipping in with a goal which came during Saturday's win over Shaftesbury.
Powerful centre forward Aidan Clarke also signed for 'berrow, and The Saltmen defence will likely have their work cut out tomorrow evening.
However Droitwich are on a good streak of form themselves having suffered 1 defeat in their last five games, but are looking threadbare and will be without Perry Moss (suspended) and Rohan Levy (injured) whilst Hubert Zatorski & Kirk Layton (Newent) and Archie Thurston (Stourport) have all recently left the club.
Nathan Binner returns after a week away.
It remains to be seen how both Managers will approach this Cup tie, with important League games on Saturday, but we are sure to be in for a competitive and entertaining game.
We wish all Spa supporters travelling over a safe trip & we look forward to seeing you there.
