Matt Hunt & Matt Oliver
At the end of the recently completed season, the ‘Two Matts’ informed Andy Crowther that they were to step down from their position as coaches with the club.
Matt & Matt both have young families, and we are more likely to see them in the future cheering (or coaching) from the sidelines at Youth matches.
Matt OIiver joined the club in 2014, the goalkeeper made his debut in a 4-0 defeat at Feckenham in the MFL Division Two.
He went on to make 258 appearances for Droitwich Spa FC, with many of those as Captain until hanging up his gloves at the end of the 2022/23 season to take up a coaching role in Andy Crowther's staff.
Matt Hunt joined us from Southam United in 2016. He debuted for the Saltmen in a 2-1 defeat at Bloxwich Town, and over the next 7 years he put on the Spa shirt on 144 occasions, scoring 24 goals from centre back.
They have both been superb servants to Droitwich Spa FC, both as players and coaches, and we wish them well, and thank them for their contribution to our success.
Aaron Drake, Joe Mayo- Braiden & Chris Hunt
Following the departure of Andy Crowther, Aaron, Joe & Chris Hunt have also decided to step down from the coaching team.
We thank them for their fantastic efforts and dedication over a number of years.
Chris Hunt has been an ever-present throughout the last few years, since 2015, supporting the management teams of Wayne Oliver & Mark Owen, Mark Owen & Andy Crowther, and Andy Crowther & Aaron Drake.
We will still see Chris in around the club, as he wishes to help out in other ways going forward.
Aaron has worked with Andy Crowther as Assistant, and has bags of experience in football, and has contributed greatly to our success.
We wish Aaron and his family, who have all been in and around the club, well.
‘Mayo’ reduced his time with us over the last couple of years, and has now decided to step away completely.
He is always a great presence in and around the dressing room, and he too will be missed. Joe was a superb player for Spa over a number of years, and we all enjoyed his talent as a player.
He joined the club in 2011 and finished playing in 2015, making just under 100 appearances for the Saltmen.
We wish Aaron & Joe all the best for the future, and say thank you for being part of our success, and we’ll see Chrissy around.
