Andy Crowther handed in his resignation as Manager of Droitwich Spa FC on 4th June 2026, ending a stint of 6 years in the hot seat.
Previous to Managing the side, “Crowth” was Assistant Manager to predecessor Mark Owen for 18 months, having retired from a playing career almost solely committed to Droitwich Spa Football Club; Andy started playing at West Bromwich Albion Academy, then moved to Redditch United Youth, before signing for Droitwich.
He also had brief spells at Malvern Town, Cradley Town, Stratford Town & Droitwich Sports.
He originally joined the club as an 18 year old when Spa were a Midland Combination Division 2 side in the early 2000’s, and he played in most outfield positions during his playing days at Kingy’s, but mainly in midfield or at right back.
As a player, Andy contributed to one promotion in 2007, where Spa reached the Midland Combination Division 1, lifted the Worcestershire Junior Cup 3 times, Evesham Hospital Cup (twice), and the Presidents’ Cup.
Since taking on the Manager’s role, Crowth has a fantastic record; not only has he presided over record progress in the Isuzu FA Vase (3rd Round proper) but also oversaw a club debut in the Emirates FA Cup last season.
He’s reached two Cup Finals, a Worcestershire Senior Cup Semi Final and three Play-off Finals, as well as winning promotion as Champions, twice, as Spa eventually gained Step 5 status for the first time ever in 2025.
His Management record is fantastic; 224 games, 148 victories, 26 draws and 50 defeats!
Upon leaving the club, Andy Crowther had the following message:
"Leaving Droitwich Spa FC is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make.
This club has meant so much to me, not just professionally, but personally.
From the players to the staff and the incredible supporters, you’ve all made my time here truly special.
I have walked away with friends for life and the lads have helped shaped me into the Manager I was and I can only truly thank them all for that.
I’m so proud of everything we’ve been through together- the challenges, the hard work and the moments we’ll never forget.
It’s been an absolute honour to lead this group and be a part of a club with such passion and spirit.
I’ll always carry these memories with me, and a part of me will always belong to Droitwich.
I wish the club nothing but success and happiness for the future."
Droitwich Spa FC would like to thank Andy Crowther for his unbelievable 20-plus years' service to our club, as a player, assistant and lastly, a hugely successful Manager and we recognize him as a huge part of our clubs’ recent achievements.
He will always be regarded as a Saltman and will always be welcome at Kingy’s.
We wish Andy and his family every success for the future.
