Saltmen win 1st game in 4 league outings over 10 man Millers

Credit must first and foremost go to groundsman Steve Dipple for getting the fixture on, albeit it very very wet, the pitch was in as good a condition as could be expected given the wintery conditions experienced over they past few days.

Feckenham manager Aaron Blackwood made three changes to the team that beat Fairfield Villa FC in the Millers previous outing, as Adam Garmson, Danny Murphy and Max Tibbins came in for Matt Green, the injured Umit Eminoglu, and unavailable Ben Welsh.

It was Spa who started the game the better, moving the ball well in difficult conditions. The visitors fashioned there first chance of the game when a neat passage of play was worked into the forward but his tame effort was easily gathered by Goddard.

The Millers grew into the game when Murphy was inches away from getting on the end of a Garmson drilled cross, whilst Perry-Holmes tried his luck from distance but Oliver was equal to it.

However, It was a nightmare start for the hosts as a free-kick from distance was mis-judged by the Feckenham defensive unit, leaving James Lemon time and space to simply shoot low past a stranded Goddard and into the bottom corner. 1-0 Droitwich Spa

Blackwood's side nearly hit back straight away though as Brimmell broke into the box and crossed low for Garmson, but the Millers striker couldn't quite get a touch inside the box.

The visitors were still a huge threat going forward as both forwards missed the target by inches in a frantic opening 15 minutes.

The action didn't stop there as the lively Jack Brimmell was played in on goal by Perry-Holmes but Spa's goalkeeper blocked his effort as Feckenham looked to make up for the early setback.

Feckenham equalised when a long throw by Donnelly was well controlled by Adams, he turned his marker superbly before firing home to draw the scores level. 1-1 Feckenham

Ultimately, it was a very much short lived equaliser as Droitwich edged there way back in-front 40 seconds after the restart! A cross from the right evaded everyone and was tapped home by Morris who reacted quickest. 2-1 Droitwich Spa

As the half drew to a close it really was end to end as Garmson then tried his luck with an effort that flew narrowly wide, and Brimmell was then denied once more after neat play on the left hand side.

HALF-TIME: Feckenham 1 - 2 Droitwich Spa

It took a little longer for the opportunities to start flowing after the interval, with Spa's forward blasting a shot high and wide and Ryan Edwards heading wide for Feckenham.

Feckenham were back level once more when a cross was only half cleared by Spa, falling nicely for Daniel Williams to strike from just outside the box, his effort was deflected into the path of captain Jake Donnelly who won a 50/50 challenge against Oliver before finishing into an empty net. 2-2 Feckenham

Brimmell tirelessly pursued a through ball before exchanging passes with Green, but the forward failed to find the bottom corner as the Millers tried to get their noses in front for the first time.

Goddard then made a superb reaction save to push away Lemons close range header after a corner wasn't fully cleared as Mark Owen's and Wayne Oliver's team started to regain control.

The turning point was when Feckenham were reduced to 10 men, an accidental but reckless challenge by Garmson on the Droitwich goalkeeper saw The Millers forward sent for an early shower.

Droitwich continued in the ascendency, but last ditch defending, help from the crossbar and good goalkeeping kept the visitors at bay as a brave Feckenham side tried to keep the scores level, but pressure eventually told as the Spa forward was not to be denied in the 81st minute, Seabourne cut inside off the left channel before firing low past Goddard. 3-2 Droitwich Spa

Connor Perry-Holmes flashed a cross across the face of goal but despite a scramble at the back post no Feckenham player could get on the end of it.

It was four for the visitors in additional time, as Feckenham piled men forward in hope of a third equaliser, however, a swift counter attack saw Lemon in space and he raced clear before composing himself and finishing well to claim all three points for Droitwich and bringing an end to Feckenham's fine recent run of form. 4-2 Droitwich Spa
