Droitwich Spa were stunned by Redditch Borough as they put in a professional and dominant display at King George's to take the points.
It was Spa's first league defeat of 2017 and only their 2nd home league defeat of the season, and without the influential spine of their team in Mike Seeley (unavailable) and Max Crisp (suspended) to boot.
Droitwich did start the brighter for the opening 10 minutes without troubling visiting 'keeper Ryan Young. They also had a couple of decent penalty shouts as Lemon went down before Haydn Morris was taken out off the ball
However, Boro soon got into their stride and were in control for the majority of this game playing a neat passing game, winning almost al of their 50/50 challenges and were poten in attack.
The breakthrough came on 20 minutes, and it was the proverbial "worldy" from the impressive Garrath Hodgetts. Cutting in from the right hand side, he hit a precision shot frm 25 yards which looped over 'keeper Matt Oliver and in off the bar.
Redditch grew more in confidence and Droitwich reverted to a long ball game which more often than not was snuffed out from a well organised back line sheperded by formere Spa man Jamie Hatfield.
Further chances fell to Joynes, Saunders and Sowe before the break, but all were comfortably saved by Oliver.
Droitwich then had their best spell of the game in which they hit the crossbar twice and had another effort cleared off the line. A succesion of corners was well dealt with and that was as much action as Young in the Boro' goal would see.
In desparation, Spa reverted to a long ball game which suited the visitors just fine and for the most part, chances were few and far between for both sides. Oliver made a decent save to deny Saunders, however it was all in vain as with 20 minutes to play, a poor kick from the Spa stopper fell to Fullerton who made no mistake to put the visitors 2-0 up to condemn Spa to defeat.
