The Saltmen ease through to semi-finals

A comprehensive display from the Saltmen comfortaly dispatched of the young Robins at Walshes Meadow.

Spa bossed the game from start to finish, however in the first period the visitors restricted their chances to a minimum.

Some good passing was on show from the hosts - a far cry from the previous week's debacle at NKF Burbage - however they struggled to create chances against a resolute back four and midfield in a pretty non descript first half.

The deadlock was broken on 21 minutes as Max Crisp's through ball was pounced on by Nick Seabourne who rounded 'keeper Josh Rogers and stroked the ball home into an empty net.

Evesham created little and were careless in possesion, however Ewan Dunbar and Sam Lucas in particular showed moments of brilliance without troubling Matt Oliver.

The Saltmen came flying out of the blocks in the second period and were denied a stone-wall penalty as Seabourne beat Matt Brookes for pace and was hacked down in the area on 48 minutes , but neither match official nor linesman deemed the challenge worthy of a spot kick.

Spa got their second 9 minutes later as a neat passage of play down the right culminated in Crowther's low cross being met by Haydn Morris at the far post to extend the hosts' advantage.

The young Robins' heads went down and Spa took full advantage as they netted four more goals over the next twenty minutes.

Brad Burgess first slammed home Morris's low cross, then Seabourne (who on another day may have been penalised for a push) muscled his way inbetween Brookes & 'keeper Rogers to net Spa's fourth, and Seabourne was involved again thanks to some great determination and a pin-point cross which teed up Brad Burgess for his brace.

Seabourne then completed his hat-trick 6 minutes from time thanks to Haydn Morris's assist, and with almost the last kick of the game Morris also grabbed a brace and Droitwich's 7th of the day as Szikora's long throw was nudged in to his path by Seabourne for a rare headed goal.

A brave performance from a young Robins side, but after the second goal went in they seemed to run out of steam and Spa ended up as comfortable winners to book a place in the semi- final.
